The ambassador expressed hope that the presidential elections would be held in a safe environment so that the Afghan people could vote for their preferred candidates and thereby provide the platform for the transfer of political power. Speaker of the House, expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by India's friendly country, he said the countries in the region and other international partners of Afghanistan should facilitate the launch of direct talks by the Afghan government with the Taliban, as Zalmai Khalilzad's talks with Taliban have raised doubts and our people do not know that on what issues have the United States and the Taliban made commitments.
